Of human flesh

Touched
     it flinches
Startled
     it begs for relief
Exposed
     It searches for cover. Nay...

Fill it with concrete
Stitch it with copper wire
Prepare a dough
Shape a wall
Bake it at 1000 degrees
Build a rampart. Nay…

A fairy castle
     green
          dispossessed
.              spellbound. Nay…
A citadel
     gray
          choking
               gasping. Aye…
